Eugeniusz Ochonko Author’s Art Gallery

Incredible things are happening in the world. Right next to us, on the other side of the river, there are various magical devices, and yet we still live in ignorance.

Gabriel García Márquez,
One hundred years of solitude

Eugeniusz Ochonko graduated from the Painting and Graphics Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in 1996. Drawing inspiration from the precise technique of old masters, he consistently blends the real world with phantasmagoria.

In his paintings, through an intriguing interplay of lines that construct space and create mirrors reminiscent of Marquez’s novels, the real world evokes the hidden, magical realm. Ochonko maintains a highly consistent approach, skillfully weaving together elements of reality and fantasy in his artistic expression.

He has exhibited his works at numerous national and international exhibitions, including significant ones such as “ART. GENDA 96” in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the “Presentation of Polish Art” at the Parliament of Bremen, Germany. Additionally, he has participated in various exhibitions in Spain.

In 2007, he was awarded the City of Gdańsk President’s Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of culture and art. Since 2008, he has been living and creating in Spain. His works can be found in many private collections worldwide, including those of Queen Sofia in Spain and Prince Albert II of Monaco.
